Who Serene suits.
Professions where restraint reads as competence — law, medicine, finance, architecture. Also the right pick when your firm has a strict identity and a loud layout would embarrass it. Restraint reads as competence.
What it puts first.
Space. The name is set large in a serif, the role sits under it in a whisper, and the contact rows are ordered rather than styled, which leaves the eye nowhere to go except where the layout points it. Nothing competes. If you have ever hunted for a phone number on a page with nine competing elements, this is the argument against that page. Fewer things. Faster reading.
Where Serene is the wrong choice.
A minimal layout has nowhere to hide a weak photograph. Shot in a car park at noon, your portrait is the only thing on the page and it will look exactly as it is. Fix the photo first, or pick Duotone, which crops hard on purpose. Good light is free.
Before you start
The questions everyone asks.
- Is the Serene template free?
- Yes. Pick it, add your details and publish at your own handle — building and publishing a page is free.
- Can I switch to another template later?
- Yes. A template is a layout over your content, so you can move to any other contact card layout whenever you like — nothing gets retyped and your link never changes.
- Do I need a website or hosting?
- No. Your page is hosted for you at your own handle — nothing to install, nothing to maintain.
- Will it work on a phone?
- Yes. The page is built phone-first and opens in any browser — the people you share it with don't need an app.
